For Tourists and Others Living Outside Japan

The following requirements apply to medical services for persons not residing in Japan.

Please be aware that your medical treatment is likely to be expensive if you are not covered by Japan public
health insurance.

  • For your first visit, if you are not referred by a medical institution authorized under the public insurance
    system, you will not be able to make an appointment. Please come to General Information on the 1st Floor during
    the new patient registration hours (8:45 to 11:00 a.m.). Note that patients with appointments will be seen
    first, so you may have a long wait.

New Patient Registration Hours: 8:45 to 11:00 a.m.
Closed Days: Saturday, Sunday, Holidays, New Year Holiday (Dec. 29 to Jan. 3)

  • An appointment must be made in advance to consult with any of the following departments.

Neurology, Ophthalmology, Otorhinolaryngology, Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery, Orthopaedic Surgery,
Dermatology, Gynecology, Neurosurgery, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery, Psychiatry, Diabetes and Endocrinology,

Pediatric Ophthalmology, Pediatric Otorhinolaryngology, Paediatric Orthopaedic Surgery,
Pediatric Neurosurgery, Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Pediatric Neurology & Logopedics,Pediatric Urology,
Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery, Pediatric Plastic Surgery

  • Medical expenses for foreign patients who do not meet the requirements for health insurance, such as those whose period of stay is 3 months or less, will be calculated at 20 yen per point of medical fee points announced by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare.

  • Payment is possible only with yen cash or a credit card. We do not work directly with private insurers.

  • If you do not speak Japanese you should, as a general rule, bring an interpreter.
  • We cannot provide support for a medical visa.

For Foreigners Living in Japan

Please bring your referral forms to General Information on the 1st Floor during the new patient registration hours (8:45 to 11:00 a.m.).
Phoning in advance for an appointment will make your visit smoother.
If you have an appointment time, please come to General Information 30 minutes early.
